COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS
The Info You’re After
HOW DO I BREW HYSSOP TEA?
For a single cup of Hyssop tea:
Measure a scant ⅓ teaspoon of dry hyssop leaves into a mug, pour the desired amount of boiling water and leave to steep for 5-6 minutes. When making a pot of tea, use the same measure for as many cups as desired, and let steep for 5-6 minutes.
When making iced-tea, prepare the tea as instructed above, and once the tea has steeped to the desired strength, add the ice.
WHY DO I NEED TO LEAVE IT BREWING FOR SO LONG?
The full flavor and benefit of the leaves will not be released before this point (5-6 minutes)
CAN I USE HOT WATER INSTEAD OF BOILING WATER?
No. Hot water (like from a thermal container or hot-water fountain) will not draw out the flavor or benefit of the leaves in the same way as boiling water, so for best results always use boiling water.
CAN I EAT THE LEAVES?
Yes, if you want to! Hyssop and mint leaves are regularly eaten (as well as drunk) in Israel! We take care to use only the highest quality leaves that have been washed and carefully dried to bring you the best experience.
